How the on-site SynthID-related review works

Upload the original image and EasyGlobe automatically completes four steps while keeping watermark, provenance, and probability evidence clearly separated.

  1. Step 1

    Upload the source image

    Use a JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF source file up to 50 MB, preferably before screenshots or repeated reposting.

  2. Step 2

    Read C2PA locally

    The browser checks signed origin, the generating tool, and explicit AI-use assertions before sending an analysis copy.

  3. Step 3

    Prepare a private copy

    If trusted AI provenance is not confirmed, the page resizes the image, removes metadata, and sends an actual JPEG or WebP copy.

  4. Step 4

    Review separate signals

    Compare trusted provenance, AI probability, source candidates, and Deepfake evidence. No probability is an official Google watermark result.

If you only have a screenshot, crop closely around one image and avoid a collage. Repeated editing, compression, cropping, or very small changes can make the result inconclusive.

What SynthID can and cannot detect

SynthID is Google’s private watermark technology. EasyGlobe combines C2PA and general pixel-model evidence for screening; it is not an official Google SynthID verification.

Can help identify

  • Images whose active C2PA Manifest is Trusted and contains an explicit generative-AI digitalSourceType.
  • Cases where a positive signal should be escalated for provenance review.

Cannot prove

  • That an image is human-made when no SynthID signal is found.
  • That unsupported AI generators, screenshots, or heavily recompressed files are clean.
  • Whether the visual claim in an image is true, misleading, or edited after generation.

How to interpret SynthID results

Treat SynthID as a high-value provenance signal, not a universal AI detector. The result is strongest when the watermark or signed provenance is found, and limited when no supported signal is available.

Provenance found

A Trusted active C2PA Manifest with an explicit generative-AI digitalSourceType can provide strong provenance evidence; ordinary brand text does not trigger confirmation.

No provenance found

The current file has no verifiable source statement. It may still come from Google or another AI system, or may have lost signals during editing or reposting.

Inconclusive

Simple images, tiny edits, screenshots, compression, or damaged files can make provenance review less clear. Keep these cases in a manual review workflow.
